Job Overview

Casella Family Brands is proud to present its portfolio alongside [yellow tail], which brings together Peter Lehmann Wines, Brands Laira, Morris of Rutherglen, Baileys of Glenrowan and the Casella premium wine range.
We are looking to fill a full-time Winemaker position at our Yenda Winery. The ideal addition to our winemaking team will be a passionate and driven individual with large winery experience.
Responsibilities will include:
- Vinification and preparation of high-quality wines
- Working within a team environment
- Develop new wine styles in line with customers’ expectations
- Public Relations/Wine Tastings
- Trial work to improve quality and cost reduction
- Monitor safety standards and ensure cellar operations are conducted in accordance with safety requirements
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary or equivalent degree in Winemaking or Oenology
- Demonstrated large winery experience
- A team player with effective leadership and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently, managing your own workload and priorities
- Show evidence of excellent supervision, organising and planning skills including use of computer systems
- Demonstrate good presentation and effective communication skills
- A practical understanding of running a large winery on a profitable basis
Compensation
This is a long-term career opportunity with ongoing mentorship and supportive management. An attractive remuneration package, with the opportunity for relocation, will be offered to the successful applicant, commensurate with experience and suitability.
All selected applicants will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical, which includes a physical assessment and a drug & alcohol test.
