The Role This role is more than just managing a wine store—it’s about pioneering a new retail concept that integrates online and in-person experiences, setting the foundation for future expansion across Australia and beyond. You’ll oversee the launch, day-to-day operations, and long-term success of the venue, while driving community engagement, sales, and exceptional customer experiences.

Key ResponsibilitiesStore & Bar Operations

  • Manage all aspects of the store and bar, including sales, inventory, merchandising, and logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol licensing, food safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Implement seamless integration between in-store and online experiences.
  • Availability for weekend and evening shifts as required.

Customer Experience & Service

  • Deliver a premium in-store experience that reflects the brand’s innovative approach to wine retail.
  • Use customer profiles and technology to offer tailored wine recommendations.
  • Plan and host events, including tastings, workshops, and wine education sessions.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team of wine professionals and customer service staff.
  • Foster a customer-first culture and ensure staff are knowledgeable about wine and the brand ethos.
  • Provide coaching and support to drive individual and team success.

Sales & Revenue

  • Drive in-store sales and subscription sign-ups, meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and enhancing customer loyalty.

Community Engagement

  • Build relationships with local businesses, wine producers, and community groups.
  • Act as the face of the brand, hosting events and cultivating a vibrant community around the store.

Reporting & Strategy

  • Track and report key performance metrics, including sales, customer satisfaction, and event success.
  • Collaborate with leadership to refine the retail concept and contribute to long-term expansion plans.

Who We’re Looking For

‚úî A Wine Enthusiast: You have a deep passion for wine and hold at least a WSET Level 2 (or equivalent) certification.

‚úî Experienced in Hospitality & Retail: You bring 3+ years of management experience in restaurants, wine bars, or similar customer-focused environments. Retail experience is a plus, but hospitality is preferred.

‚úî Customer-Centric: You have a proven ability to create exceptional customer experiences.

‚úî Tech-Savvy & Innovative: You’re comfortable using technology to enhance the customer journey and streamline operations.

‚úî A Strong Leader: You excel at building and leading high-performing teams. ‚úî Results-Driven: You are motivated by hitting targets and continuously improving operations to drive success.
