Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists for experienced and motivated individuals to join our Cellar Team for the upcoming 2026 Vintage.
We are seeking passionate and hardworking team members who will thrive in a dynamic winery environment and are eager to contribute to the production of premium wines. As a Cellar Hand, you will play a key role in supporting winery operations by completing assigned tasks efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
McLaren Vintners is a 4,000–5,000 tonne premium custom crush facility located in McLaren Vale, processing fruit primarily from McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills, Langhorne Creek, and the Coonawarra. We have the privilege of working with some of the best fruit and winemakers across multiple regions, offering a unique and rewarding experience where every batch is handled with care and attention to detail.
Requirements
Job Requirements
• Experience working in winery operations and production preferred
• Have a broad knowledge working with a vast range of winery machinery
• Experience in Press operations with both Diemme and Bucher is an advantage
• Demonstrate a high degree of initiative in how jobs are handled.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Working with the winemaking team and the Cellar Manager to complete the required day-to-day winery operations.
• A high, personal work ethic.
• Sound reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
• A current Driver’s License, Australian forklift license and confined space permit is preferred but not essential.
• International applicants must attain a valid Australian Work Visa.
Vintage Hours
The Vintage period will commence from mid-February 2026 and shifts will typically range from 8 to 12 hours, with weekend and night shift hours as required.
Please note that working hours and duration are subject to seasonal conditions and are not guaranteed.
This role involves physically and mentally demanding work in a fast-paced environment, requiring teamwork, focus, and attention to detail.
There is potential for longer-term employment for the right candidates.
