Holm Oak Vineyards is a family-owned wine business producing award-winning cool-climate wines in the heart of Tasmania's Tamar Valley. The vineyard is situated approximately 40 minutes dirve north of Launceston. Launceston is a well serviced boutique city of 70000 which combines affordable regional living with a world-class food and wine scene and easy access to the Tamar Valley and Tasmania's pristine natural wilderness.

The Role

Holm Oak Vineyards is seeking an experienced and motivated Vineyard Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of our 18 hectare vineyard in Tasmania's renowned Tamar Valley.

This hands-on leadership role is responsible for vineyard performance, operational efficiency, team leadership, sustainability, and premium fruit production. Working closely with the owners, you will drive continuous improvement while maintaining the high standards for which Holm Oak is known.

You will lead all aspects of vineyard operations, from planning through to harvest, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and oversee all vineyard operations from pruning to harvest.

· Implement annual vineyard and operational plans.

· Manage and execute irrigation, nutrition, canopy, pest, and disease programs.

· Lead, mentor, and develop permanent and seasonal staff.

· Coordinate contractors, labour, machinery, and maintenance programs.

· Monitor vineyard performance and implement productivity and quality improvements.

· Manage operational resources, records, and reporting.

· Collaborate with the winemakers to achieve quality and production targets.

· Promote a strong safety culture and ensure WHS compliance.

· Drive continuous improvement across vineyard systems and processes.

· Lead sustainability initiatives and maintain certification under Sustainable Winegrowing Australia.

· Manage certification records, audits, reporting, and environmental improvement programs.

Requirements

About You

You are a practical, hands-on vineyard professional with strong leadership skills and a proven ability to deliver results.

Australian work authorisation must be held at the time of application.

You Will Bring

· At leaset 3 yeears experience in vineyard management or vineyard operations leadership.

· Strong technical knowledge of viticulture and vineyard production systems.

· Experience operating vineyard machinery and equipment.

· Demonstrated success improving operational performance and efficiency.

· Experience leading and developing teams.

· Strong planning, organisational, and resource management skills.

· A proactive, solutions-focused approach.

· Knowledge of sustainable vineyard practices and environmental stewardship.

· Experience with, or willingness to lead, Sustainable Winegrowing Australia certification.

· Strong record-keeping and compliance management skills.

· Qualifications in Viticulture, Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field are desirable.
