Launched in 2023 from a thirty-year-old site, REDSHED Wines are hoping to quickly make their mark in the industry.Our philosophy is simple - to create the finest wine possible by letting nature dictate the process, with a little help from its friends.
Redshed wines is looking for a vineyard manager with a passion for the cultivation of grapes to manage the day to day operation of the vineyard. The stunning property, located in Metricup, has a 14Ha under vine. The applicant will be a part of a small team and have a large amount of autonomy over day to day activities, whilst working closely with the winemaker to ensure a pure expression of site in the wines.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities include:Vineyard Maintenance:
-Assist in planting, pruning, and trellising grapevines.
-Perform routine vineyard maintenance tasks, including weeding, slashing and soil cultivation.
-Help with the operation and repair of irrigation systems.
-Assist in the setup of nets.
-Manage irrigation systems to ensure consistent and appropriate water supply
Harvest Support:
-Participate in grape harvesting activities, including picking and sorting.
-Assist in transporting harvested grapes to the processing area.
Pest and Disease Control:
-Aid in monitoring vine health and identifying signs of pests or diseases.
-Support the implementation of pest and disease control measures.
Grape Processing:
-Operate and maintain grape crushing and destemming equipment.
-Assist in receiving and processing grapes during harvest.
Pest and Disease Control:
-Aid in monitoring vine health and identifying signs of pests or diseases.
-Support the implementation of pest and disease control measures.

Skills and Qualifications:
• A completed tertiary qualification and/or multiple seasons working in a vineyard.
• A passion for viticulture and the craft and science of grape cultivation.
• Understanding of grape varieties, vine growth stages, and vineyard practices.
• The ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Work effectively with other members of the vineyard team, contractors and wider staff.
• Ability to communicate effectively, think critically and implement strategy.
• Driver’s license, right to work in Australia.
