Vineyard Hand

Moores Hill Estate is a boutique, family-operated wine producer located in the beautiful Tamar Valley, Tasmania. First planted in 1997 our 5.6ha vineyard consists of Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. We produce sustainably grown, single vineyard wines of outstanding depth and quality, all made on site in our 100% off-grid winery powered by 108 solar panels and 45kw/hr of battery storage.

Moores Hill is seeking a highly motivated and reliable Vineyard Hand to join our small and dynamic team. The role involves participating in all facets of vineyard operations with a focus on producing grapes of premium quality while using environmentally responsible practices, upholding our high level of sustainability. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in viticulture practices and a strong understanding of vineyard machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with all vineyard operations, including but not limited to:
Pruning, vine training, and canopy management
Cover cropping
Undervine weeding
Netting and hand-harvesting grapes
Operate and maintain tractors and vineyard equipment
Conduct herbicide and fungicide spraying in line with safety standards
Maintain irrigation and trellis systems
Supervise labour hire crews

This is a permanent position and is only open to applicants who are Australian citizens or permanent residents. Due to the size of Moores Hill, the successful applicant will occasionally be expected to help out in other areas of the business.
