Bangor is a family-owned multi-award-winning cellar door, restaurant and tourism destination located near the scenic seaside township of Dunalley, just 50 minutes from Hobart. Perfectly positioned on the Arthur Highway—the touring route to one of Australia's premier tourist attractions — the Port Arthur Historic Site (35 minutes' away).
At Bangor, our values are grounded in genuine Tasmanian hospitality, environmental stewardship, excellence, and community connection. Our goal is to ensure Bangor remains a destination that combines premium hospitality with responsible land management, leaving a positive legacy for our team, visitors, community and future generations.
About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on, people-focused Venue Manager to help lead and grow a respected regional hospitality business with a genuine story behind it.
This is a varied role that combines operations, team leadership, recruitment, training, events, tourism partnerships, business development and commercial performance, while staying closely connected to the guest experience.
We're after someone who brings warmth, energy and professionalism to hospitality and enjoys leading from the floor.
We are looking for someone who:
- Loves juggling multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Understands the commercial realities of hospitality
- Can move seamlessly between strategy and service
- Builds strong teams through visible leadership
- Brings warmth, professionalism and energy to everything they do
- Is motivated by growth and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the venue, ensuring exceptional guest experiences across restaurant, cellar door and tourism offerings
- Drive strong commercial outcomes through effective operational management, team leadership and guest engagement
- Deliver engaging wine tastings and premium hospitality experiences
- Collaborate on events, tourism initiatives and business development opportunities
- Recruit, train and develop team members
- Monitor KPIs, sales performance and operational efficiencies
- Contribute ideas, improve systems and support the ongoing growth of the business
- Maintain Bangor's reputation for excellence in Tasmanian hospitality and wine tourism
What We Offer

The role offers several benefits including an attractive salary package, performance-based bonuses, predominantly daytime hours and rostering flexibility.
This role may suit someone coming from larger hospitality groups, hotels, tourism operations or premium venues who is now seeking something more meaningful — a leadership role offering lifestyle and balance in a beautiful part of the world.
