Job Overview

Join the team at Puddleduck Wines, a family-owned boutique vineyard and winery nestled in Tasmania's stunning Coal River Valley, just minutes from the historic township of Richmond.

As we move into an exciting new chapter under new ownership, we're looking for a passionate and hands-on Cellar Door Sales Manager to support our team and help deliver memorable, high-quality experiences for every guest who visits.

This is a wonderful opportunity to play a key role in a much-loved Tasmanian venue, sharing our wines and story while helping the business continue to grow in a thoughtful and sustainable way.

The Role

Puddleduck is a relaxed and welcoming destination for locals and visitors alike, offering wine tastings, lunches, events and special occasions in a picturesque vineyard setting.

As Cellar Door Sales Manager, you'll take the lead in the day-to-day running of the cellar door, working closely with your team and remaining present on the floor. You'll support great service, encourage product knowledge and help create an environment where guests feel genuinely welcome — and where strong sales outcomes follow naturally from positive experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the Wine Club
  • Help drive sales in a natural and guest-focused way, enhancing the overall experience
  • Deliver warm, engaging tasting experiences that reflect the Puddleduck brand
  • Support the daily operations of the cellar door, ensuring smooth and consistent service
  • Be actively involved on the floor — hosting tastings, engaging with guests and supporting the team
  • Encourage and guide the team to build confidence in wine knowledge, service and sales
  • Contribute ideas and initiatives to support visitation, revenue and customer loyalty
  • Work closely with the Restaurant Manager to determine staffing requirements and cover when required
  • Manage inventory, stock control and general operational requirements
  • Support the planning and delivery of events and special experiences
  • Foster a positive, fun and welcoming team environment

Requirements

About You

You're a sales professional with a passion for wine who enjoys being part of a team, takes pride in great service, and understands how positive guest experiences contribute to strong business outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Proven background in sales and customer engagement
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience (cellar door experience highly regarded but not essential)
  • A warm and approachable communication style
  • A hands-on attitude and willingness to support the team wherever needed
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to build rapport with a wide range of guests
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A calm and practical approach in a busy environment
  • A genuine interest in wine and creating enjoyable guest experiences
  • You will hold a current RSA & Drivers License

Compensation

Why Join Us?

  • We'll educate you in our wine varietals, you don't need to be an expert
  • Work in one of Tasmania's most picturesque vineyard settings — where guests (and team members) can't help but enjoy themselves!
  • Contribute to a business entering an exciting new phase
  • A fun and supportive team environment
  • Daytime hours

How to Apply

If you enjoy being on the floor in a busy but light-hearted environment and creating experiences that guests remember — we’d love to hear from you.

Closing Date: 24th April 2026
