Talits Estate is a boutique, family-owned, award-winning cellar door and vineyard nestled in the beautiful Broke Fordwich winemaking region of the Hunter Valley. Our estate offers a French-inspired experience for guests and wine lovers and we are seeking an energetic Cellar Door Manager to work in our team.

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated hospitality professional to undertake all aspects of the cellar door operations most importantly ensuring guests receive a warm, personal, and unforgettable experience. As the Cellar Door Manager, you will lead a small team including casual assistants, undertake wine tastings, coordinate small events, manage stock, organise deliveries and drive the continued growth of our direct-to-consumer wine sales including our wine memberships.

The position is ideal if you love wine, food, and hospitality – and thrive being hands-on in a customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

●     Oversee daily operations of the cellar door, including preparation for opening and closing procedures

●     Lead wine tastings and provide knowledgeable insights into our range of wines

●     Manage and train casual staff, including scheduling providing direction and ensuring service standards

●     Ensure smooth operation of food service (cheese and charcuterie boards, small bites, coffee/tea)

●     Maintain presentation of the cellar door and garden seating areas

●     Manage bookings and group tasting experiences

●     Coordinate and assist the winemaker and owner with wine availability, events, and promotions

●     Handle stock management, POS systems, and cellar door reporting

●     Drive wine club sign-ups and onsite DTC sales

●     Assist with occasional photoshoots, and private events

●     Put in place wine sale deliveries including to members

●     Assist make and facilitate wholesale submissions

●     Assist prepare regular newsletter to members and contacts

●     Organise and supervise maintenance and repairs

Requirements

About You

●     Previous experience in hospitality, ideally in a wine-focused venue or cellar door

●     RSA certified (mandatory)

●     Strong people and leadership skills

●     Passion for wine and customer experience

●     Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable rolling up your sleeves

●     Excellent communication and organisational skills

●     Required to work weekends and public holidays if required

●     Computer and software skills
