Cellar Door & Restaurant Manager (Wine Jobs: Vineyards & Cellars )

We are presently searching for a Restaurant Manager, Cellar Door and Functions Manager. The position will manage the activities of the restaurant and cellar door at our venue which has an exquisite vista, and to also carry over the business responsibilities of this area.

The position will based at Gapsted Wines, near Myrtleford and will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

The successful applicant will possess skills in the following areas:

• Must have strong Restaurant, Cellar Door and Functions management experience with full ownership/responsibility for these duties;
• Reporting - monthly reporting on progress including success of functions, results of key activities and strategies;
• Coordinate and manage company organised and private functions, liaising with key members of the Gapsted Wines team;
• Able to manage multiple projects (on and off site) simultaneously;
• Develop new initiatives to drive costs and financial targets;
• Ability write applications for Government Grants & Regional Tourism Awards;
• Proven track record in people management (ideally in a Cellar Door and Restaurant setting), with a team of staff of 20-30 people to ensure quality and consistency;
• Have a solid understanding of current legislation and OHS standards;
• Ability to work hands on in a team environment and showcase commitment to quality and passion for the position;
• A vibrant personality and passion for hospitality and wine;

The successful applicant will possess/be able to demonstrate the following:

• Excellent Communicator and Professional presentation;
• Strong planning, staff management and organisation capabilities;
• Wine knowledge or a passion for wine would be an advantage;
• 3+ year's Restaurant, Function and/or Cellar Door Management experience would be an advantage;
