Vinesmith is seeking a highly skilled and driven Venue Manager to lead its new team. 

About us: Vinesmith Cellar Door is the newest addition to the low-profile Vinesmith group, whose Blue Pyrenees, Glenlofty Estate and Decameron Station vineyards produce some of Victoria’s most iconic wines. 

This vibrant and innovative new setting located at the Treasury Gardens entrance to Flinders Lane combines a Restaurant, Wine Bar, and Cellar Door within a space designed by international architects Denton Corker Marshall. It will offer an outstanding fine dining experience to complement our exceptional wine portfolio. 

About the role: Venue Manager will be a pivotal role in shaping the success of our establishment, putting us at the forefront of destinations within Melbourne’s CBD. 

Lead by example and inspire your team to provide first class customer service.

Oversee each area of service, ensuring seamless customer transitions across the venue, delivering an outstanding experience to all guests. 

Create a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests, ensuring their satisfaction and comfort, flex your style to adapt to a diverse clientele.

Build, mentor, and manage a new front of house team, fostering a positive work environment.

Monitor budgets, control costs, and maximise revenue whilst maintaining the highest quality.

Maintain high standards of food, service, and cleanliness, reflecting Vinesmith's reputation.

Partner closely with the Head Chef to deliver a remarkable food and wine experience to showcase our amazing wines.

Plan and execute special events, wine tastings, and private functions.

About you:

Proven experience as a Venue Manager or similar leadership role in premium dining.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for providing excellent customer service. 

Experience of Cellar Door and Direct to Consumer models, including wine club would be very advantageous. 

Strong organisational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrable knowledge of wine, WSET level 2 highly desirable. 

Financial acumen for budgeting, cost control, and profitability.
