Vinous + Vinous Imports is looking for an experienced Sales Manager to continue developing our well-established Victorian territory. It is a diverse territory covering the city, inner city suburbs and select country areas across all premium channels. Using both our Domestic and French-focused Import portfolio, particularly the latter, the position covers all types of venues dealing in premium wine from small bars to fine dining restaurants to independent retail. The position carries complete responsibility for the state of Victoria and there is plenty of scope for the right candidate to progress quickly, call the shots and shape the territory as their own.

Vinous is a small to medium-sized distributor, importer and producer. Now in our fifteenth year, we are a highly respected, ever-growing, progressive company working in the fine wine sectors of the on- and off-premise wholesale markets nationally.

What you need to apply…

  • Passion for fine wine, knowledge of imported wines, particularly French and a continued lust for learning.
  • Existing network of contacts in the Melbourne on and off-premise channels
  • Minimum three years' experience in a similar sales position
  • Excellent organisation skills, with trade event management experience a big plus
  • A positive solution-seeking attitude
  • Outstanding communication skills to engage colleagues and customers – from small business owners to corporate organisations
  • The ability to work both autonomously and remotely with a small, highly integrated team
  • Background in fine wine retail or hospitality is a plus
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Current driver's license
  • Unlimited rights to work in Australia

If you are familiar with our company already and have a working knowledge of our portfolios it would be a major advantage.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Day to day management of an existing client base across a range of channels
  • Developing new business in major channels and your territory, with the potential to work across other southern states
  • Improving and implementing strategy for large hospitality groups
  • Working alongside the National Sales Manager and Director to contribute directly to sales strategy, portfolio content and major decisions for your territory
  • Managing future Victorian sales teams.
