Founded in 1893, Oakvale Wines is one of the Hunter Valley’s oldest working wineries. Since an ownership change and redevelopment in 2010, Oakvale has grown steadily. The winery is state-of-the-art and uses minimal winemaking inputs and favors contemporary winemaking styles.

At the heart of the current wine range are classic Hunter varietals produced from the estate owned Ablington Vineyard. The Oakvale range also includes varietal specialties from contracted vineyards in other regions, including Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. Vineyard management and winemaking are fully integrated and both are deeply committed to organic, low-input and minimum intervention principles.
Key Responsibilities:
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Winemaker to join Oakvale’s winemaking team. You will be able to lead when necessary and be able to implement or supervise all necessary cellar operations and safety procedures. Hands-on cellar and laboratory work are essential as is an enjoyment of interacting with customers from time to time.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a formally qualified or working towards a formal qualification, be a hands-on winemaking professional, inspired to handcraft wine. Hands on cellar and laboratory work are essential as is an enjoyment of interacting with customers from time to time. Experience with Vintrace an advantage.
