Retail Manager (Wine Jobs: Wine Retail & Sommelier)

We are looking for enthusiastic person to join our team in Anderleigh, Queensland. We are a winery business with our own resort, restaurant and retail stores. We are currently accepting applications for a full-time Retail Manager position, commencing ASAP.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee daily store operations, merchandising and staff management
  • Select products and manage inventory across all sales channels, maintaining financial record
  • Set price and develop programming and marketing initiatives, including email offers and tasting events, utilising our in-house online advertising specialist
  • Maintain and identify wines and skin products for monthly clubs and promotion
  • Budgeting
  • Participate in the development of tactical and strategic projects
  • Represent the store at events; in store, offsite, and industry tastings
  • Handle compliments and complaints

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven sales leadership experience – minimum of 5 years is required.
  • Strong customer service and communication (oral, written) skills
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to multi-task and independently solve problems
  • Professional demeanor; positive, friendly attitude; and willingness to be a team player
  • Desire to learn more about the products and industry as a whole
  • Scheduling flexibility, incl. evening/weekend hours and the ability to work 35-45 hrs/ week
  • Basic Internet and computer skills; web or media savvy a plus
