Applications are invited for a Technical Officer – Sensory Analyst position within the Sensory Team at the Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI).
The Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI) is the Australian grape and wine industry’s own research organisation. It supports a sustainable and successful grape and wine industry through world class research, practical solutions and knowledge transfer. The successful candidate will carry out sensory tests to support research projects that add value to the Australian wine industry. The role involves designing, conducting, and interpreting the results of sensory tests and leading sensory descriptive analysis panels. In addition, providing sensory data to wine industry clients is an important part of this position.
The successful applicant is expected to have a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant discipline such as Food or Wine Science, Chemistry or Psychology. Experience gained in sensory evaluation methodology, in leading sensory panels and in statistical data analysis would be looked upon favourably.
This full-time position will initially be offered for a two-year period.
