In this role

You will be responsible for:

  • Assist in carrying out Cellar Operations
  • Ensure quality wine production under the supervision of the Winemaker

Key accountabilities include

  • Participate in training modules including the following;
    • Carry out Transfer Operations
    • Participate in WHS processes
    • Clean and Sanitise equipment
    • Identify key operations in wine production
    • Handle dangerous goods / hazardous substances
  • Follow direction as provided by Winemaker / Manager
  • Carry out all tasks assigned once trained and competent
  • Assist and maintain general winery cleanliness and hygiene
  • Ensure that cellar operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner
  • Log all relevant data into log sheets and operation notes as required

Other accountabilities include

  • Other tasks as reasonably directed
  • Comply with all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures

Essential knowledge and skills are

Functional

  • Communication skills
  • Drivers licence
  • Good attention to detail

Behavioural

  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Able to follow direction
  • Attention to detail

Essential experience is

  • Successful completion of training modules essential for a Cellar Hand
  • Previous experience in carrying out Cellar Operations duties in a similar environment
  • High Risk Forklift licence is desirable

Essential qualifications are

Physical and other requirements

  • Ability to work shift work
  • Manual Handling
