About the business and the role

Select Wines is seeking an experienced Wine Sales Representative for the Brisbane area to represent our boutique portfolio of Australian and International wines.

This is a unique opportunity for a talented and driven individual to be a part of a fast growing company in the wine industry to develop our brands, establish new clients and manage existing clients.

Job tasks and responsibilities

As our Wine Sales Representative, you will…

• Cold call on independent accounts to give successful presentations to decision-making buyers that result in the sales of wine
• Meet and exceed goal expectations while effectively selling wines from our portfolio
• Plan and execute a schedule of sales calls on a pre-determined account run
• Be present and punctual for mandatory sales meetings and sales events, including wine tastings and portfolio shows (which are sometimes held outside of business hours)
• Effectively plan in the short and long term to achieve sales goals and grow your territory
• Go above and beyond with your account management skills to service customers
• Keep up with market trends and proactively offer insight for brand/product improvement

Skills and experience

If you're the ideal candidate, you must:

• Have current or prior wine sales experience, geographic knowledge and account relationships including established on-premise and off-premises relationships in the greater Brisbane area;
• Have a high level of wine knowledge and be confident to represent our wines to new customers;
• Have a proven track record of managing complex customer relationships;
• Be able to naturally and successfully influence and negotiate;
• Be able to constantly seek out new ideas, keep up with industry trends, and thrive on being one step ahead of the game;
• Be excited to be part of an entrepreneurial, collaborative and growing company;
• Able to establish a good relationship with customers;
• A knowledge of the premium liquor trade, both on and off premise;
• Be passionate about selling and have specific knowledge of how to sell wine;
• Full Drivers License;
• You will operate out of home and of course, your car!
• Current QLD RSA;
• Permanent Residency and Fluent in Spoken and Written English.

Remuneration:

• A competitive base salary plus target based bonuses
• Own vehicle required but a fuel allowance provided or will be reimbursed
