About the business
Patritti are a proud family business, established in 1926 and are the only fully operational winery and juice producer in the Adelaide suburbs. Patritti crush in excess of 1,500 tonnes annually and perform all vinification and bottling onsite at Dover Gardens. Patritti also supply a range of contract services to the wine and beverage industries.
The opportunity
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a permanent full-time Cellar Hand to join our small and dynamic Winemaking team.
The Cellar Hand is responsible for supporting the winemaking team with all hands-on functions related to wine making and beverage operations.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out cellar procedures as directed by the winemakers including:
- loading and unloading tankers,
- barrel work,
- tank cleaning,
- filtration,
- sparging,
- additions,
- general cellar hygiene
- temperature control,
- vintage duties including;
- crushing, pressing, racking, transfer of product
- cleaning wine making equipment - press, crusher, fermenters, RDV etc.
- forklift operation,
- maintaining a safe work environment at all times and actively participating in WHS policy & procedures
- and other duties as directed by the winemakers
Key Requirements
- Experience gained in a similar role within the wine industry, with knowledge of general cellar operations and equipment.
- Knowledge and/or experience in the area of quality assurance and HACCP certification requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with both internal and external parties
- Forklift license
